In the beginning…

Wow! My first post on KD Corner.  What to write about….hmmm.  Well, today, I want you to know that you can come to my corner any time you need a burst of hope to get through your day, your week, your life.  Life is hard enough on its own.  We have seasons of joy and seasons of pain. The Bible, believe it or not, actually speaks about life’s yin and yang.  God didnt say we wouldn’t go through tough things, but, that he’d be there in the muck WITH us to help us get through it.  For those of you who have been on this earth a little longer (ahem)… you may remember the song by Peter, Paul and Mary – Turn, Turn, Turn.  They got that from a section of the bible called Ecclesiastes.  Here it goes…

There is a time for everything,  and a season for every activity under the heavens:

  • a time to be born and a time to die
  • a time to plant and a time to uproot
  • a time to kill and a time to heal
  • a time to tear down and a time to build
  • a time to weep and a time to laugh
  • a time to mourn and a time to dance
  • a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them
  • a time to embrace and a time to refrain
  • a time to search and a time to give up
  • a time to keep and a time to throw away
  • a time to tear and a time to mend
  • a time to be silent   and a time to speak
  • a time to love and a time to hate
  • a time for war and a time for peace.

The world at large goes through these seasons (especially war & peace), but if you narrow it down to you & me…we each go through seasons (times of life) like these.  I’m here to let you know that the yuck seasons don’t last forever (although sometimes they seem like it).  Following the unpleasant season, there will be a season of good things.  And when we go through the hard times, that’s when we have to pull together and help one another along.  We were not meant to run this race called life alone.  We need each other.  We were designed to need each other.  I’m all about paying it forward.  One sure way to take your mind off of your own troubles for a little while, is to help somebody else with theirs.  What can you do to encourage someone today?  Maybe it’s a smile.  Don’t underestimate the power of a smile or a kind word or a listening ear.  KD Corner is here for you… who can you be there for?  Can’t wait to hear. Toodles! 🙂
